Native American Hand Beaded Purse: Kimimila (Butterfly)

Oglala Lakota Nation member Kevin Fast Horse Sr., honors the Butterfly on the front of this beaded purse.

Kevin uses glass beads on commercially tanned deer leather. He partially beads the shoulder strap and adds leather thongs that feature glass and metal beads with an abalone shell.

Kevin finishes the flap of the purse with tiny metal bells and a set of leather dangles with glass beads and metal beads. The purse is signed by the artist.
