Native American Hand Beaded Pipebag: White & Cheyenne Pink
Created by local (Oglala Lakota Nation) beadwork artist Brenda Dubray, she hand beads the designs with glass beads and then attaches her beadwork to commercially tanned leather. Brenda chose white for the background color and then used Cheyenne Pink to highlight her design.
Brenda adds a deer antler button with long leather fringe, metal cones and glass beads. The two colored leather fringe, at the bottom of the bag, feature metal cones and metal beads.
Brenda decorates the back of the bag with metal spots and more glass beadwork. She finishes the bag with a long leather tie to help secure precious items inside the bag.
