Native American Hand Beaded Pipebag: Dark Periwinkle
Hand beaded by local (Oglala Lakota Nation) beadwork artist Brenda Dubray, she creates the designs with glass beads and then attaches her beadwork to commercially tanned leather. Brenda chose dark periwinkle for the background color and then used predominately white beads to highlight her designs.
Brenda adds a deer antler button with long leather fringe, metal cones and bone beads. The leather fringe, at the bottom of the bag, feature metal cones.
Brenda decorates the back of the bag with metal spots and more glass beadwork. She finishes the bag with a long leather tie to help secure precious items inside the bag.
