Native American Hand Beaded Cradleboard: Dancing Magpie

Local Oglala Lakota Nation member Kevin D. Fast Horse Sr., hand beads this beautiful cradleboard with images of his signature geometric designs and a Magpie. Kevin is a master when it comes to using hand cut glass Italian beads.

Kevin attaches his beadwork to commercially tanned deer leather, he attaches this to wooden slats, he carved the slats into the shape of a magpie. He finishes the slats with brass tacks that complete the image of the Magpie.

Kevin finishes the decoration of the piece with large glass beads, metal beads, small metal bells and a beaded turtle amulet.
