Native American Carved Horse Dance Stick: War Honors
Mnicoujou Lakota artist Jim Little Wounded honors the pony and its rider, both of whom earned their war honors.
Jim paints the wooden body with acrylic paint, he adds real horse hair for the forelock, mane and tail. He wraps the center of the body with glass beads and leather.
He finishes the horse dance stick with imitation eagle feathers, leather eagles with glass beads and imitation eagle feathers.
