The tea infused from the flower heads and leaves was once used as a herbal remedy for coughs and colds, as well as stomach aches. The tea was also applied topically for skin ailments.
This is a resinous, fragrant Native American herb that is harvested by local wild crafters.

Frost had killed off all the gumweed in my area and I needed to combine the flowers with arrowleaf balsamroot and Lomatium Dissectum for a medicinal tincture. I was fortunate to find that Prairie Edge had the dried flowers as I could not find them anywhere else.
This herb is of excellent quality. Bitter and resinous as would be expected.
