Created by non-Native American artist Dan Chapman. This Black Warbonnet Dance Rib is a reproduction of those once carried in some ceremonial tribal dances.

The dance rib is made from an actual buffalo rib. The rib features hand painted black stripes symbolizing the devotion of the dancer and is also decorated with brass tacks. Leather strings connect the rib ends and are strung with imitation eagle feathers and bells.

Black Warbonnet Dance Rib

I have several pieces by Dan Chapman. They are all beautifully made and have the look of museum pieces. The Black Warbonnet Dance Rib which I just received is no exception. It is everything I hoped it would be and more. It has a wonderful vintage look to it and a beautiful sound. I am honored to be its caretaker. Wopila Tunka!
