Native American Hand Painted Shield w. Bear Dance Stick

Jim uses rounded willow hoops and then wraps a rawhide shield over them to hold the shield together. He covers the rawhide shield with a soft leather cover that is hand painted with track images, feather images and a lightning design across the center.

Jim has added a carved bear stick with wrapped glass beadwork to the center of the shield. He finishes the decoration of the shield with imitation feathers, leather dangles and wool wrapped horse hair ties.

The piece is signed by the artist.
