Native American Quilled and Beaded Cradle Bundle w. Back Board

John uses brain tanned hide for the hood of the cradle bundle, he extends the bottom of the bundle with red wool cloth and covers the line with glass beadwork. John has also edged the opening of the cradle bundle with more glass beadwork.

The quillwork features an old style spirit emerging into this physical world, it's here to protect the child and guide it through life and the lodge design on the quilled slats are symbolic of the home the child will live in. The quillwork is incredible and takes time to execute, it can also be described as neat and tidy.

John finishes the design of the cradle bundle with deer toes, yellow felt, brass bells, dyed red fluffs and a covered wooden board to hold the bundle upright.
