Description

The "Images of America" series is a celebration of the history of towns and cities across the country. Each photograph and title depicts stories from the past that have shaped the character of the community as it exists today.

The county seat Dupree; celebrates its 100 Year Centenniel with the publication of this history. Ziebach county was established in 1911, named for Frank Ziebach. Most of the county lies within the boundaries of the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation and smaller areas lie within the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation. Donovin Sprague worked with the Ziebach County Historical Society in the research and collection of the 200 Archival photographs presented in the book.
