Michael Haskell's jewelry designs embrace his Plains Indian culture and heritage as he thoughtfully incorporates geometric patterns with ancestral Native American imagery and symbols. His resulting work ranges in style from the elaborate and traditional to the simple and contemporary.
From his use of sterling silver to traditional Native American gemstones like malachite, pipestone, turquoise and ammolitee, this artist is best known for his jewelry pieces - inlaid bracelets, bolos, pendants, pins, buckles, rings and earrings.
Haskell is an enrolled member of the Minneconjou Lakota tribe of South Dakota. The artist grew up on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation and attended Flandreau Indian School where he began developing his skills as a silversmith.
